We do contact landlords to confirm you have permission to have a pet(s), even if the pet is a foster
Are You Active Duty Military
Being active duty does not disqualify you from fostering
Are All of Your Current Pets Spayed or Castrated (Fixed)
Tails Of Hope requires all animals in the home be fixed and up to date on vaccines with the exception of animals under age
Are You able to Provide Proof of Spay/Castration and Vaccines with Vet Records
If you do not have records to prove sterilization and vaccinations, we will contact your veterinarian

You are not guaranteed to have the provided number at any time. This is simply a guideline for us
Are You Willing to Foster Litters of Kittens
If possible, kittens will be kept with the mother until 12 weeks of age. If the mom can not be kept until that time (stray/feral/medical reasons), kittens will still stay together, as a litter, until they reach 12 weeks of age
Do You Have Experience with Neonatal/Bottle Fed Kittens
Sometimes we end up with kittens too small to care for themselves. They are a lot of work. It is very helpful to know if you are able to assist with their care
Do You have Experience with Stray and Feral Cats
Are You Willing to Foster a Stray or Feral Mother with a Litter of Kittens
We often receive a stray or feral cat who has a litter of kittens. The mothers most often can not be touched or interacted with, but we was the babies to be socialized as much as possible, so they do not have to be returned outdoors. Specific conditions would be discussed
Are You Willing to be Patient with all Animals and Allow Them Three Weeks or More to Adjust to Your Home
Cat and Kittens can take several weeks to adjust to new surroundings and require patients and love
Please list names and ages of everyone living in your home
If You Have Young Children, Have They Been Exposed to Pets and Taught how to Treat Them With Respect
It is very important that children respect animals. They are not toys, and if they are injured or feel threatened, it can result in injury for your child. This is the nature of an animal and they can not be blamed for this. It is your responsibility to keep your children and your pets safe.
Are All Responsible Parties in Your Home In Agreement of Fostering
Are You Able and Willing to Provide Clean Drinking Water and Adequate Food
Supplies can be provided by Tails of Hope, supplied by foster, donated by foster with receipt or purchased by foster and reimbursed, but the foster must agree to make sure the animal(s) have access to these things at all times
